THE APPLE WATCH IS HEEEEERRRE!!!

Luckily, Apple delivered my watch in an unmarked box-- which ended up being super convenient because I wasn't home at the time they delivered it. I didn't do an unboxing video, mostly because I prefer to see things and examine them slower than a video allows. I tried to do a play-by-play as much as possible through the process of starting up my fancy-pants-Apple-Watch.

The box, opened. It has the Apple logo and the word "WATCH" printed next to it if you are unable to see that in the picture. The box was super sleek, as you would expect, and it was surprisingly heavy; it weighed more than I thought it would.

When you opened the box, the first thing to take out was the watch box. It is almost identical to a bracelet jewelry box. I really liked the box. Usually watches come in bulky circular wrist molds and they're super unattractive. This box makes you feel like you are receiving high quality jewelry. And let's be real, this is super high quality. ... at least today it is! (How terrible is it that I'll only have at least a year or two before this watch is dated.)

This is what the watch looks like the first time you see it. The next time you see the watch, it will be on my wrist and I will have removed the protective plastic covering that wrapped around the top and bottom of the watch face plate.

Additional items sent in the box: Charger cord, plug, instructions. I've realized I never took a picture of the watch charging, so I'll update that when I get home.

The instructions unravel from a tri-fold and basically tell you to immediately go to your app on your iPhone to set up your watch. The set up was super user friendly; very easy to walk through. The next few pictures are each step of the start up process.

Here, you see the Apple Watch Sport on my wrist, prior to start up. When I turned it on, the Apple logo appeared. At that time, I went to my iPhone and started to sync both devices.

The Apple Watch asked my my preferred language, and then I had to select "Start Pairing" to begin the pairing process. My app on my iPhone asked if I wanted to transfer my apps over individually or if I wanted to do one big transfer and bring over all convertible apps. I chose to do one big transfer.
The only app I was sad to see transferred, was "Stocks." I do not look at stocks, I do not own any stocks, I do not care about stocks. Unfortunately, it is one of the 'stocked' apps (see what I did there?), and I can't delete it. I can't delete it off of my iPhone either. Other apps that I don't use, but haven't deleted off of my iPhone, were easily deleted off my watch. Once I had selected all of my preferences, it started the syncing process.

The picture on the left is what my watch looked like while I was working with my app, and the picture to the right is what my screen looked like while it was loading all of my preferences.
Here are the following specs of my Apple Watch Sport:
38mm Case
7000 Series Silver Aluminum
Ion-X Glass
Retina Display
Composite Back
Sport Band
White Fluoroelastomer
Stainless Steel Pin
It was $349 +tax. Is that too much for a watch? Yes. Do I regret this purchase? No.
I was planning on updating my Fitbit and decided to get the watch instead. I was planning to drop about $150 on a Fitbit, so I felt like I was really only paying $200 for the Apple Watch. Which is still a lot of money-but, that amount is easier to digest. I mean really, it only makes sense! :)
Apps that I currently have on my Apple Watch Sport:
Chipotle, Kroger, Ulta, Barclaycard, Yahoo Weather, Weather, The Weather Channel, Target, Kohls, My Fitness Pal, Email, Calendar, Shazam, iTunes, Pandora, Instagram, Alarms, Stopwatch, Timer, Return to Screen (takes my screen back to the watch face), Trip Advisor, Nike Running, Workout, Activity, Maps, Messages, Phone, Passbook, Camera, Settings, Photos, World Clock, STOCKS :P, Calculator, Dictionary (yes, I'm a nerd), Keynote, Twitter, Remote.
Whew! That was a lot more than I realized!
You can follow this link to see the different apps possible for download on your Apple Watch.
After wearing this watch for a day, I am super satisfied with this purchase. It feels nice, it's not uncomfortable. It responds well (the screen turns on when I look at it, and it turns off when I'm not), the touch sensitivity is great, and the text-to-speech feature is wonderful.
I'm sad about two things: 1) I want to be able to call out Siri through a simple voice command (right now, I have to hit a button to activate her). 2) I want Facebook to have a watch friendly app...and they don't. I'm sure I'll see the Facebook app in a future update-- hopefully Siri will be, too!

I got an Apple Watch Sport on release day; I think that qualifies me as a hipster. So I took the most hipster selfie I possibly could. I'm sporting a hoodie, duck lips, a hipster hat, this is a bathroom pic, and I'm taking this picture WITH MY WATCH. Seriously.
What are your thoughts on the Apple Watch?
