PopSugar March 2015
It's PopSugar Time!!!
I came home to "Just Because" flowers and a PopSugar box after a pretty lame day at work. This [immediately] made everything better!
I know that the initial opened box picture does nothing-- it doesn't explain anything and it doesn't really show anything, but that feeling, of not knowing what you're about to get, is worth the picture!

Sweater Vest to Pillow!
My grandmother's birthday was coming up. I wanted to give her something that actually meant something to her, rather than a gift card or something that filled a momentary void. I wanted something that would last.
At the same time, my husband and I were considering selling our condo (update: we have decided to wait another year) and we were going through all of... well, everything; trying to downsize our clutter. I stumbled upon my great-grandfather's (my grandmother's father) sweater vest. My husband likes to wear these in the winter, and my grandmother offered this to us after my great-grandpa passed away two years ago. We've gone through two winter seasons now, and he (my husband) still has yet to wear it. It's made of wool and kind of itchy to wear, so he wasn't sad when I suggested using this to make a gift for my grandma.
Here's a walk through of the mostly made-up process I went through...

"I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings" by Maya Angelou; A Book Review
The following is a book review of "I know Why the Caged Bird Sings," by Maya Angelou. I would like my reviews to entice you to read this book yourself, but I am a firm believer in not revealing any spoilers; including the ending and crucial plot developments. Therefore, while these posts may seem to be ambiguous, they are an accurate recount of the story.

Ipsy January 2015
January was an okay Ipsy month for me... I wasn't really blown away by any of the items. Neutral colors make me look sickly, so I try to stay away from them. I've retaken my ipsy quiz a few times and still can't manage to get a mix that I prefer.
A list of items:
Malin + Goetz Lip Balm -- I have a zillion lip balms, so I actually exhanged this item with a friend. No complaints about this product...but I didn't get any follow up raves about it, either.
Bella Pierre Shimmer Shadow (Whesek) -- I am turning 29 this year and I know that I am supposed to be too old for all things shimmer and glittery, but I just can't resist it! I actually really like this shimmer shadow, it's very soft on my eyes and helps perfect my smoky eye. I actually exchanged the lip balm for another color of Bella Pierre's "Exite." It's a soft white shimmer shadow. I love this look in the corner of my eye and just under my eyebrows. A+, Ipsy!
Pacifica Mineral Coconut Eye Shadow -- I gave this item away for no exchange. I love Pacifica's brand-- but again, I don't like neutrals!!!
Probelle Nail Polish (Into the Blue) -- I have yet to try this nail polish, but I did the color. I'll report back as soon as I give it a go.
Elizabeth Mott All Over Shadow Brush -- I like this brush. It's a great size (and color!) that makes it easy to carry around in my make up bag. I also have a zillion of these, Ipsy!
Like I said, it was an okay month for me, but for $10 a bag, Ipsy can consider me a loyal customer. Here's hoping next month is better!
